Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking your prefect Crystal Coast rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coral Shores #11, Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
