Our top Rental booking tips:

When to book a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect rental home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Black Dog Beach House, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
