Cape Carteret has a fish with your name on it, so let Hoo Hunter Sportfishing help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Hunter can tell you all about them.

Species like Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, Grunt, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Black Seabass, Spanish Mackerel, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more can be found in these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. During the trip, you might be spinning, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!

Your adventure begins aboard a 35’ Contender center console with space for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. You can’t go wrong when you bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

You could keep reading this, but wouldn’t you rather be fishing with Hoo Hunter Sportfishing?
