The event takes place in the heart of Harkers Island, which is a small-town community on the edge of the sound waters that is renowned for its quiet and enticing waterfront charm. Serving as a beautiful place to run, walk, or stroll, the Core Sound Run begins and ends “at the end of the road” with a course that appropriately follows the scenic borders of the Core Sound. Long-sleeved T-shirts are provided to all 5k and 10k participants, and prizes will be given to overall winners in varying age groups for both of these races as well.
